Refunds and cancellation
When money comes back, how to cancel, and what happens to a book you have already opened.

Cancelling a plan
Cancel from your account page at any time. The plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and then stops; nothing further is taken.
When a plan ends, your books are not deleted. Authoring is frozen and everything stays readable and downloadable, so a lapse never costs you your work.
A part-used period is not refunded as a matter of course. If you cancel immediately after a renewal you did not expect, write and ask.
The free trial
The trial takes no payment and needs no card, so there is nothing to refund.
If you do not subscribe, the trial's book is deleted a day after the five days end. You are warned on the third day and again on the fifth, and you can download the book at any point before that.
Buying a book
A book bought here is delivered immediately, so where the law allows it the right to change your mind ends when you open it.
If a book will not open, is not what its page said it was, or you were charged twice, write and it will be put right.
A refund of a book is a refund of the whole purchase. When one is made, access to that book ends seven days later, so you are not cut off mid-page.
AI word top-ups
Words you have bought do not expire with the month, and unused words are not refunded once the generation they were spent on has run.
If a generation fails, its words are returned to your balance automatically. You do not need to ask.
If you are a seller
When a buyer is refunded, the commission on that sale is reversed too, so a refund costs neither of you a commission.
A refund appears in your statement against the order it belongs to.
How to ask
Write to the address named on this page with the email address on the account and, if it is about one purchase, roughly when it happened. Do not send card details.
Refunds are returned by the way you paid. How long the money takes to appear is the bank's, not PageDove's.
