Terms of use and sale
What you agree to when you use PageDove, and what PageDove agrees to in return.
This is a draft. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and the contracting details are not filled in yet, so it is not in force.

Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and the company named on this page, which runs PageDove Studio and PageDove Books.
Using either of them means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. If you are using PageDove on behalf of a family or an organisation, you are confirming you may agree on their behalf.
Your account
You sign in with your email address, either through Google or with a code emailed to you. There is no password to lose.
You are responsible for the email account you sign in with. Anyone who can read your email can get into your PageDove account, so keep it secure.
You may not share an account, resell access to one, or use PageDove to break the law or infringe somebody else's rights.
Your books and your writing
Everything you write, upload or photograph stays yours. PageDove claims no ownership of your manuscript, your pictures or your finished book.
You give PageDove permission to store your work, lay it out, make the printed and electronic files you ask for, and show it to the people you share it with or sell it to. That permission exists so the service can do what you asked; it ends when you remove the work.
You confirm you have the right to everything you upload, including photographs of other people and anything written by someone else.
If you list a book for sale, you confirm you hold the rights to sell it, and you keep holding them for as long as it is listed.
Plans, trials and payment
Reading is free. Making a book needs a Studio plan. Selling needs a Seller plan, and a Studio plan includes selling.
The free trial runs for five days and covers one book. It does not include the AI writing features, translation, or publishing. At the end of the five days that book becomes read-only and can still be downloaded, and it is deleted a day later unless you subscribe and keep it. You are warned by email on the third and fifth day.
Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Prices are shown before you pay and may change for future periods, never for one you have already bought.
Selling on PageDove
A seller keeps the rights to their book and sets its price. PageDove takes a commission on the net amount of each sale made here, recorded on the agreement at the rate in force when the agreement was made, so a later change never rewrites your history.
PageDove may refuse or remove a listing that breaks these terms, infringes somebody's rights, or that it is not lawful to sell.
A book advertised here but sold somewhere else is not sold by PageDove, and PageDove is not party to that sale.
What PageDove does not promise
The service is provided as it is. PageDove does not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of faults, and does not promise that a printer, a shop or a reading device will accept a file.
PageDove is not liable for loss of profit, loss of goodwill, or any indirect loss. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you. PageDove gives you a way to export your work at any time, and you should use it.
Ending it
You can stop using PageDove whenever you like, and cancel a plan from your account page.
PageDove may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that is being used to harm somebody. Where it is reasonable to do so you will be told why and given a chance to put it right.
If an account closes, you keep the right to export your work for a reasonable period before it is deleted.
Changes, and the law that applies
These terms may change. A material change will be announced before it takes effect, and continuing to use PageDove after that means accepting the new terms.
These terms are governed by the law of the place named on this page, and disputes are for its courts. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have where you live.
